Taiwan...

sorry for holding up so long..was simply lazy to blog? heh..oops.. : x well well well, typing from basically my journal that i kept over at Taiwan..sort of..

5/12/2004 : was at Sg airport early. didn't meet the others for lunch first cos my parents didn't allow..say too early. only 8 girls went lar..ling, sek, lias, chew peng, Mag, jolene, Steph and me.. the guys side: Isaac, Jun yi, xiong, Sam Wei jie, Zi Qi, QS, Shi Yang, Jacob, Mitch, Yong yi, Royce and Alvin.. so many guys lor..worst thing bout some of them: the f word was like basically their commas and full stops.. so irritating. Jang and yanz came to send me off. Gave me chocs and cards as well.. Thanks!! And Yanz..sorry for being mean.. the girls sat together, except ling.. didn't know that amelia was afraid of flying until at the airport.. she was like hiding her face in the pillow that the flight attendent gave out..we were supposed to have a flight transit at HK. the trip there took bout like 3 hrs plus.. watched "Without A Paddle" on the way to HK. Then it took bout 2 hrs plus to reach Taipei frm HK. by the time we reach Taipei, it was alreadi bout 12.30 MN. met up wif our guide, Grace aka "Fei Fei". reached the hotel at around 1 in the morn like that.. the hotel was terrible..the water from the tap in certain rooms were even yellow.. Eww.. Thank goodness we got to change hotels for the next night.

6/12/04: woke up at arnd 6 plus to 7.. real early..lolz.. breakfast was Taiwanese style. Basically porridge and some dishes of mostly preserved foodstuff. Went on a sort of sight-seeing after that..arnd the city streets.. the amount of motorbikes there is totally amazing..everywhere along the streets.. during morn rush, the roads were packed.. went to see a university or sum sort.. realted to our sch one..also Anglican sumthing..went arnd their campus to see see..the sch ground is like so big lor.. got pool, courts of all sorts..field.. even a pond. the guy who brought some of us arnd also showed us how to make a lily out of some fluffy grass plant.. way cool..they also brought us to Lovers' Bridge after lunch at their canteen. the bridge was at Dan Shui, northest pt of Taiwan. on the way there, they cracked lame jokes on the bus...a great bunch of pple..very fun! Tried "metal egg" there..not bad. Also got to try this really tall ice cream, bout 20 to 30 cm high and it costs only $0.50 sing.. left the uni soon after..went to Xin Yi High Sch. both the guys and girls had a match there, but the girls only played 2 quarts. the guys won..but we lost, by one.. heard from He Sheng that they were the national champs, 15 to 16 yrs old..and much taller.. went for steamboat dinner after that.. was alrite..the steamboat was like each one one..we were then brought to a night market after that..

7/12/2004: went to a memorial hall today..the whole place was really gigantic..with soldiers marching arnd.. today's practically a shopping day. Went to Taipei 101, said to be the tallest building. that place is basically a rich person's place..all the expensive stuff like Prada and all..although the building was tall, only get to go up to the 5th floor? arnd there..another shopping mall after that, some spherical building. a place that's diff to walk..so many levels and all connect at diff places.. there's even a long escalator frmt he 7th floor to the 10th.. the stuff there were rather ex as well.. Xi men Ding was next.. nth much there..

8/12/2004: Taipei to Yilan..the travelling took bout 3 hrs like that..went by the coastal areas down south.. saw much of the Pacific Ocean and Tortoise Island. had lunch in the town area of Yilan. the ppl seem to like shark's meat and squid a lot.. basically every meal, these were present. went to a sch for match.. guys won, girls lost again.. the girls there were practically all 18 yrs old..the place we were staying was a rather cool place...more of a person's house. Chatted online wif Micky and Yanz that night.. yanz.. i've been thinking bout the conversation we had..sighh.. chatted for a long time with Lingz as well.. she's so funny..haha..

9/12/2004: QS had to see a doctor today.. was sick wif fever..travelled to Hua Lien. still travelled along the seaside and mountains..stopped at a place where fish ate ice-cream.. the fish were like swimming on top of each other, fighting for the fish..went frm Hua Lien to Zhi Ben..bout 4 hrs trip. watched Taxi and Mr Bones on the bus..got to watch Cellular and Incredibles again as well..reached the hot spring hotel. th water there was like kinda slimy kind, wif the sulphur smell.. the hot spring wasn't exactly hot.. juz like warm? but it was definitely warmer then the surroundings and can see vapour near the surface of the water.

10/12/2004: Kenting today..a superbly windy place.. scenery there was nice..beach views and all..went to another sch for a match.. both the guys and girls won..interacted with the students there for awhile then He Sheng's sch mate brought us all for dinner.. at the dinner place, there was this adorable little girl!! She was simply so cute..!!! haha.. infatuated wif her!! she's prolly only arnd 3 yrs old? i guess..i fed her dinner and played wif her..but she keeps lying on the floor, wif one hand propping her head up.. so cute!!! haha..Sam, Alvin and wei jie sang karaoke.. nice voices.. oh ya, the way alvin laughs is simply hilarious!! he laughes as if he has asthma like that.. haha..taking in loud deep breaths while laughing...sounds weird and funny!!

11,12/12/2004: went to a night market at Kaoshiung.. walked arnd, nth much lar.. going back the next day le..woke up early the next day, even before the sun rose.. 4 plus 5lus like that.. our sits on the flight to HK for transit were pretty much the same.. 3 hrs at HK..however, the flight to Sg was very dispersed.. sat at window sit with Yong Yi and Alvin was on the next aisle.. the others were practically everywhere on the plane..

the trip was alrite overall.. had a bout of depression there though.. hai..
